How many bowls does a 5L açaí tub make?

Smoof’s PURE 5L açaí sorbet lists 4kg of sorbet in a 5L tub. At 100g of açaí per bowl, that gives 40 portions. At 150g, it gives 26 full portions with 100g left over. At 200g, it gives 20 portions.

The right portion depends on the bowl you want to make. A smaller amount can work for a dessert cup with a few toppings; a larger amount gives you a more substantial base. These are planning examples, not recommended dietary serving sizes.

Calculate by weight.

5L describes volume; it does not mean 5kg. Use the tub’s listed 4,000g net weight when you are weighing individual servings.

For a consistent bowl, place an empty bowl on a kitchen scale, reset the scale to zero, then scoop your chosen amount of sorbet. Fruit, granola and drizzles go on afterward and are separate from the açaí base weight.

What does the açaí base cost per bowl?

Using the tub price of $47.95 SGD, the table below shows the estimated ingredient cost for different portions. It allocates the tub’s cost by weight, so any remaining sorbet still has value for another serving.

Estimated servings from one 4kg / 5L PURE tub
Açaí base per bowlFull portionsSorbet left overBase cost per portion
100g400g$1.20 SGD
125g320g$1.50 SGD
150g26100g$1.80 SGD
200g200g$2.40 SGD
250g160g$3.00 SGD

Prices are in SGD and follow the current product price in this template. Portion counts round down to full servings. Toppings, delivery, discounts and handling losses are excluded.

For example, a 150g portion costs $1.80 SGD for the sorbet base. Your complete bowl cost will be higher once you add fruit, granola, nut butter or other toppings. Actual yield can also be lower if portions vary or sorbet remains in the tub.

To estimate how long a tub might last your household, divide the full portion count by the number of bowls you make each week. This is a purchase-planning calculation; follow the product label for storage and best-before information.

Will a 5L tub fit in your freezer?

The product page lists approximate dimensions of 22cm wide × 14.5cm deep × 19cm high. Measure your available shelf or drawer space before ordering, including the clearance needed to lift out the tub and open its lid.

A larger tub needs one clear space. If your freezer is split into small drawers or shared with other household food, several individual pints may be easier to arrange. Our 5L tub versus pint bundle guide compares the formats in more detail.

Plan to receive your order when someone can put it away promptly. Keep the remaining sorbet frozen according to its label and reseal the tub after serving. Check the delivery information for the current terms that apply to your order.

Build a bowl without a blender

PURE is a ready-to-scoop sorbet. Scoop your measured base into a bowl, add the toppings you like and serve. A straightforward combination is banana, berries and granola; a little nut butter can finish the bowl if it suits your preferences and allergen needs.

Store crunchy toppings separately until serving. That makes it easier to prepare each bowl to order and control how much you add. For more preparation ideas, read our guide to making açaí bowls at home.

PURE describes the recipe name.

PURE sorbet contains added sugar. If you want an unsweetened ingredient to blend yourself, choose Pure & Unsweetened açaí pulp and check its current label. Sorbet and pulp have different preparation methods.

Common questions about the 5L tub

Can one tub serve 30 people?

It can provide 30 portions of up to about 133g each before handling losses, because 4,000g divided by 30 is about 133g. If each person wants 150g, 30 bowls require 4,500g of sorbet, which exceeds one tub. Add your own allowance for inconsistent scoops or extra servings.

Is PURE sorbet the same as unsweetened pulp?

No. PURE sorbet is ready to scoop and has added sugar. Pure & Unsweetened pulp is a frozen ingredient for blending. Check the ingredients and nutrition panel on the specific product you are buying.

Does the listed price include toppings and delivery?

The calculations here cover only the sorbet base. Toppings are separate, and delivery charges depend on the current order terms. Confirm the total at checkout.

Can cafés use these serving estimates?

Yes, as a starting point. Weigh portions during your own preparation trial and allow for actual handling losses. For business ordering and pricing, use our wholesale enquiry page.
